Unit 1, Lesson 15

Count on up to 3 more using numeral and 5-group cards and fingers to track the change.

EngageNY 60 min(s)
In this lesson, students count on to find the total in an addition situation. For example, to add 6 + 3, they count on from 6 ("Six...seven, eight, nine!") to find the total, using fingers or 5-group cards to help them keep track of the change. After a review of counting on, students have the opportunity to practice this strategy as they play a partner game.
