By the end of the lesson students will be able to compare two two-digit numbers, communicate strategies used to compare numbers. Prior Knowledge Needed: experiences counting objects, building numbers tens and ones. Have students count the number of dots and write the number down. Ask students to share both the number of dots and their counting strategy. Then ask students, "Can you think of a number that is greater than this number?" Take responses.
