EngageNY 60 min(s)Support for English Language Learners
In this lesson, students use the make-ten strategy with 5-group drawings and number bonds to solve a variety of problems involving a mixture of 7, 8, or 9 as addends. This gives students an opportunity to practice their skills making ten with 8 and 9 from previous lessons, and allows them to see that the make-ten strategy applies to other numbers (such as 7) as well.
