Unit 3, Lesson 5
Write base ten three-digit numbers in unit form; show the value of each digit
EngageNY 60 min(s)
In this lesson, students work with base ten numerals representing modeled numbers with place-value cards, also known as Hide Zero cards, that reveal or hide the value of each place. They represent three-digit numbers as number bonds and gain fluency in expressing numbers in unit form (e.g., 3 hundreds 4 tens 3 ones), in word form, and on the place value-chart.
The Understood offers evidence-based strategies that benefit all students, especially those with learning differences and attention issues.

This lesson helped my students a great deal with learning. I teach lower students and using this helped them to understand what I was trying to teach them. I was very nervous about how to review this information with my EC students but they quickly were able to understand and utilize the material on what I was teaching at the time.
