Using Pattern Blocks as a model, students build wholes given a fractional part of the same whole. This lesson focuses on SMP2 (Reason abstractly and quantitatively). Students will be required to contextualize the numerator and denominator of the fraction and consider the meanings of their quantities in relationship to the whole.
