Unit 1, Lesson 4# Create figures on the geoboard to match different area measurements and verify those areas by counting square units

North Carolina Department of Public Instruction 54 min(s)

By the end of this lesson students will determine the area of a two-dimensional shape on a Geoboard by counting smaller regions. A plane figure which can be covered without gaps or overlaps by n unit squares is said to have an area of n square units. Measure areas by counting unit squares (square cm, square m, square in, square ft, and improvised units).
