Progressions for the Common Core State Standards for MathematicsProgressions for the CCSSM: Categorical Data in Grades K-3 and Measurement Data in Grades 2-5
Supporting grades: K12345

Description: One of a series of documents describing the progression of a topic across several grade levels, informed both by research on children's development and by the structure of mathematics. In Grade 2 the only requirement of the Standards dealing with measurement data is that students generate measurement data and build line plots to display the resulting data sets. After some experiences in generating the data, most work in producing line plots can be done by providing students with data sets.
