Unit 4, Lesson 11# Use the addition of adjacent angle measures to solve problems using a symbol for the unknown angle measure

EngageNY 60 min(s)

In this lesson, students solve for unknown angle measures through the addition of adjacent angle measures. Students begin by decomposing 360 degrees into smaller angles to determine unknown angles. From there, students are able to determine unknown angle measures given two intersecting lines and a given angle. Students apply their understanding of addition of adjacent angle measures to solve for an unknown angle to a word problem. Finally, students determine the unknown angles around a given point using a given angle measures and line segments.
