This Instructional Activity is a part of the Lesson 18, Unit 5, Grade 7. This example reminds students of the concept of sampling variability and introduces the idea that they want sampling variability to be small. Students think about the questions posed in Example 1. In this lesson, students begin to understand the connection between sampling variability and sample size. For this example, however, students simply focus on the variability of the two dot plots and the statistical question they are answering. Discuss the questions posed as a class.
