Present the example of flipping a nickel and then a dime. List the sample space representing the outcomes of a heads or tails on the nickel and a heads or tails on the dime (HH, HT, TH, and TT). Discuss how each outcome is equally likely to occur. Then, ask students: What is the probability of getting two heads?
