This Instructional Activity is a part of the Lesson 18, Unit 6, Grade 7. Students apply what they learned in Examples 1-3 to right rectangular pyramids. We have explored slices made parallel and perpendicular to the base of a right rectangular pyramid. What shapes did those slices have in common? Parallel slices yielded scale drawings of the base, and slices made perpendicular to the base yielded slices in the shapes of triangles and trapezoids.
