Lesson 20. Unit 6. Grade 7 Open Up Resources

This Instructional Activity is a part of the Lesson 20, Unit 6, Grade 7. In this activity, students use what they have learned so far to find a missing term that makes two expressions equivalent. They have many tools at their disposal to reason about the missing term. For example, for the first problem 6x+{?}=10x, they might reason as in the last activity and write out the sum of 6 x's and ? on one side, and a string of 10 x's on the other side, and reason that 4 x's are needed to make the sides equivalent.
