Unit 6, Lesson 11# Using Linear Models in a Data Context

EngageNY 45 min(s)Support for English Language Learners

Students recognize and justify that a linear model can be used to fit data. Students interpret the slope of a linear model to answer questions or to solve a problem. In a previous lesson, students were given bivariate numerical data where there was an exact linear relationship between two variables. Students identified which variable was the predictor variable (i.e., independent variable) and which was the predicted variable (i.e., dependent variable).
